KEYS CAMPAIGN UP AND RUNNING
The campaign to elect Reg Keys as Independent MP in the constituency of Sedgefield, which was represented by Tony Blair until he declared the election, has been up and running since its launch on 6 April. The campaign headquarters is now open in Newton Aycliffe and committee rooms have been set up in Ferryhill and Fishburn. Distribution of the introductory leaflet has already begun in Ferryhill, Sedgefield, Chilton and Fishburn and will be starting in Newton Aycliffe on Monday 11 April, while Vote Keys posters are beginning to appear in the constituency.
"There has been a very encouraging response so far" said Reg Keys. "There is a lot of discontent with Blair over the war and his record as a constituency MP and many lifelong Labour voters are open to the idea of voting for change. They are also aware that they have a unique opportunity here in Sedgefield to make history and change the course of national and international politics."
Events:
Monday 11 April: candidate and team distributing leaflet in Newton Aycliffe from 10.30am
Tuesday 12 April: candidate and team visit Newton Aycliffe market from 10.30am
