Try to read the full advice again (this is getting more boring than the potato saga) Get through enough to see that it's actually fascinating - and ends with a warning that whatever the legality of the action, regime change remains illegal and the government must be aware of this when considering its targets and making public statements about the action. Why should the government be warned about this if there was no danger of them doing it?

Is this bit not the smoking gun?

Journos everywhere, as usual. Reg is now fighting on two fronts, with the campaign here and with other bereaved parents taking legal advice on going to law on the very issues the AG warns about. Briefing the journos and arranging interviews seems to take up most of the day.

Bremner's article is in the Mail, his interview in the Evening Chronicle. Great.

The canvassing machine is impressive. Brian Eno turns up and sets himself to some canvass map preparation. Teams move in and out all the time. Not going home tonight so can go to Meet Reg Keys in Newton Aycliffe Leisure Centre. Reg is growing in stature every day - he is good. Mike Aston, whose son Russell was also killed in Iraq, has come up from south Derbyshire to stick by Reg's side.

The eBay story breaks - and no, honestly, it's not come from us (we wouldn't have the ingenuity) One of those people who wishes they could live and vote in Sedgefield, at least this once, is offering his/her vote in a swap. But don't try this at home - the Electoral Commission says this may be illegal if it involves a contract, which in a way it does. Shame; it's a gem of an idea.
